o Knowledge & Understanding of Monitoring & Safety Systems, Including the Emergency Shutdown
o Loading, Unloading, Care & Handling of Cargo
o Knowledge of the Effect of Bulk Liquid Cargoes on Trim, Stability & Structural Integrity
o Knowledge & Understanding of Oil Cargo Related Operations
o Development & Application of Cargo Related Operation Plans, Procedures & Checklists
o Ability to Calibrate and Use Monitoring & Gas Detection Systems, Instruments & Equipment
o Ability to Manage and Supervise Personnel with Cargo Related Responsibilities
• Familiarity with Physical & Chemical Properties of Oil Cargoes
o Knowledge & Understanding of the Physical and Chemical Properties of Oil Cargoes

o Knowledge & Understanding of the Hazards and Control Measures Associated with Oil Tanker Cargo Operations

• Take Precautions to Prevent Pollution of the Environment
o Understanding the Procedures to Prevent Pollution of the Atmosphere and the Environment
• Monitor & Control Compliance with Legislative Requirements
o Knowledge & Understanding of Relevant Provisions of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL), as Amended, and other Relevant IMO Instruments, Industry Guidelines and Port Regulations as Commonly Applied.
